DAN MACK MITCHELL  (Kelly Mitchell  2009)  Tet
[(GINNY MITCHELL  X SEEDING) X (GINNY MITCHELL X VANILLA LACE)]
6 1/2" evergreen, early mid-season 28"
rebloom 30 buds

The creme de la creme of my blue-eyed and edged
flowers to date and named for my father.
DAN MACK MITCHELL is a very large  flower of the most extraordinary color clarity.  A violet base with a blue eye and  double edge.  The picture was taken on a 90-degree day.  Early in the spring the blue eye and edge can be a deep blue and the violet base even darker.
Occasionally, DAN MACK MITCHELL has sported  7" flowers on first blooms, but 6 to 6 1/2" is more the norm.  A large double edge of cream and blue.  Sometimes the cream part of the edge will be more yellow or have green tinges depending on the heat.
Plants habits are very similar to its grandparent Mildred Mitchell in having great vigor. It has good scapes with heavy rebloom.
I believe DAN MACK MITCHELL expands the gene pool for blue breeding in large Tet flowers  as  it comes from lines that do not include Tet Lavender Blue Baby in the parentage.  I have taken it to all  blue or green-edged  flowers. My hope it to get a DAN MACK MITCHELL flower with a green edge.
Very fertile pollen,  pods are moderately easy.

LEMON RUBY EYES (Kelly Mitchell 2009) Tet
( SEEDLING) X (SEEDLING)
5 1/2"  semievergreen, early 26"
heavy rebloom 35 buds
A light yellow with sun fast, large, deep rose eye and edge.  Well-branched scapes with lots of buds.
LEMON RUBY EYES is a good parent being an
exceptionally easy pod parent.   Good vigor and
rebloomer.  A bright, happy flower in the garden.
Foliage goes almost all the way down in the winter here.  Most likely a dormant in colder
climates.

LILAC QUEEN (Kelly Mitchell 2009 Tet
(GINNY MITCHELL X VANILLA LACE) X (SEEDLING)
6 1/2" evergreen, early mid-season, 32"
rebloom   25 buds

Everything about LILAC QUEEN  is large from the clump size, to flower size, to scape size.
An impressive, stately plant.  Form is more
triangular and the coloring is lighter than
Danny Steve Mitchell with the eye and edge
being a lilac lavender.  A  nice outer cream to
gold edge surrounds the lilac edge.  Good parent for large plants and tall, straight and
strong scapes.  LILAC QUEEN has been quite
easy as a parent both ways.

$25.00 double fan
